General Information

Department of Architecture has been offering postgraduate education within the Faculty of Architecture since 1995. The Department of Architecture is located in the Cayirova Campus. This campus is a rare example which was able to protect the natural life in the area with its green fields of 245 km². The license program that was started in the academic years 2008-2009 was established in line with the criteria of national and international accreditation boards in the field of architecture. In order to bring productiveness and dynamism to the program, it is ensured that the architects who are known for their works in the related area of expertise contribute to the education process.

The Objectives of the Department

The objective of the department is to create a contemporary architectural education model that could compete in national and international level, educate architects who are able to generate and interpret rational solutions by determining environmental, social and architectural problems, and to be in an active position in research-application areas. It is intended to raise inquisitive professionals who can adapt to the basic principles of the Republic and universal ethical values, define their own national identities in global scale, question and utilize the knowledge, think independently and critically, use the latest technology, produce rational solutions to current architectural problems and have a social and environmental awareness.

Research Areas and Employment Opportunities

In this department, studies are performed on various areas as Building Material, Building Biology and Ecology, Sustainability, Structural Waste Management, Building Production Technologies and Organization, Building Quality, Fireproof Design, Single Building and Site Protection and Industry Heritage.

Within the framework of the new opening that the profession of architecture has gained in parallel with the latest developments, all kinds of intellectual and practical work area, as well as building design and production offer new opportunities for the architectures.
