Visit to Plant Factory İstinyePark Facility with Our Rector

Our rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali MANDAL, our vice rector Prof. Dr. Işıl AKSAN KURNAZ and our faculty members Dr. Lecturer Member Ümit Barış KUTMAN and Dr. Lecturer Member Bahar YILDIZ KUTMAN, together with some of our students, visited Plant Factory's İstinyePark facility, which is the world's first vertical farming facility built in a shopping mall, with which we collaborate in R&D on deep technology production in university-industry cooperation. Plant Factory, one of the leading names in the sector in the field of vertical farming technologies, brings a different perspective to sustainable agriculture with its agricultural facility built inside the shopping mall, with its soilless and pesticide-free production methods and much less water consumption compared to traditional farming methods. The steps taken by our institute in the development of effective technologies and methods for vertical agriculture within the framework of university-industry cooperation with Plant Factory are important in both sustainable agriculture and bio-economy.
