OBEK (Original Bio-Economic Resources) Center of Excellence is a project of excellence center coordinated by GTU Biotechnology Institute, run by the Gebze Technical Education and Research Foundation (GTEAV) supported by the East Marmara Development Agency.

This center structure which brings together expert academicians from different disciplines from the leading universities of the region and our country and industry organizations operating in different sectors, is established for evaluating bio-economy resources in Turkey, especially in eastern Marmara region to economy and industry.
