Murat Elçin - Plenary Speaker on the First International Congress on Biotech Solutions for Sustainability

Yaşar Murat ELÇİN, Professor, Ankara University

Yaşar Murat Elçin is a professor in the Biochemistry Division of the Department of Chemistry at Ankara University. In 1993, Dr. Elçin established ElçinLab, which focuses on biomaterials, tissue engineering, and nanobiotechnology. Additionally, he serves as the President of the Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering Society in Turkey and is the founder of Biovalda Health Technologies, Inc. He holds seven registered patents and has developed two prototypes, Matrisis® and Hemagraft®. He has received multiple awards, including the Ankara University Science Award in 2008, the Middle East Technical University Science Award in 2018, and the Doktorclub 2019 Biotechnology & Genome Technology Award.

 

Regenerative biomaterials have significant potential in replacing damaged tissues and organs and restoring normal body function. Developments in life, materials and engineering sciences offer broad opportunities in this context. This talk will mainly focus on our new studies and some of our prototypes on biological regenerative biomaterials that have the ability to activate the body's self-renewal potential.
