Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Graduate Program

Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (BSB) MSc and PhD programs are offered by the Bioengineering Department. The programs are coordinated by Prof. Dr. Tunahan Çakır, Assist.Prof. Pınar Pir and Assist. Prof. Onur Serçinoğlu.

BSB graduate programs are interdisciplinary, and they were jointly formed by Departments of Bioengineering, Computer Engineering and Molecular Biology and Genetics. BSB MSc program was launched in Febrary 2016, while the PhD program was launched in February 2018. The programs offer the students research opportunities in computational biology including interpretation of genome-scale biological data to develop personalized solutions for diseases and structure-based drug design.

Our programs are the first programs in Turkey that bring Bioinformatics and Systems Biology together, academic language is English. We accept students from a wide range of scientific fields, including the graduates of Engineering, Life Science, Medicine, Pharmacy and Healthy Sciences B.Sc programs.
