Sending a Picture of the Thesis Defense and Making a Video Presentation of the Thesis

For all dissertations - and as optional or where necessary for the master's theses - all the students who pass the thesis defense:

- Must send the Institute a picture of them taken with the jury at the end of the thesis defense (mailto: fbe@gtu.edu.tr)

- Must make an appointment for the filming of their thesis' video presentation and have themselves filmed as they present their thesis (to make an appointment please contact Mr. Mehmet Çağatay AKTÜRK, Tel: +90 262 605 11 33)

Requirements for the Video Presentation of the Thesis:

Presenter: Must be the student who has written the thesis, their advisor may partly contribute.

The Filming Environment: Can be the laboratory or the work environment at the student's department. A venue or a different work environment that represents the University may also be used. A PowerPoint presentation is not required; however, materials that represent the student's thesis may be introduced.

Recommended content flow of the presentation: (approximately 5 minutes in total)

- 30 seconds: Thesis title, advisor's name, and the supporting organization/institution (if any)

- 2 minutes : Scope of the thesis, its contribution to science/industry, findings and results to be highlighted, publications the thesis is featured (if any), patent applications and so on

- 2 minutes : Methodology used, contents of the thesis, and summary of the research done

- 30 second: Suggestions and further research
