EXAMS HELD UNDER THE PREPARATORY PROGRAM

LİST-PROFICIENCY Exam for Newly Enrolled Students

The LİST-PROFICIENCY Exam conducted by the Department of Foreign Languages at GTU is held for the newly enrolled students at the beginning of the academic year. The newly enrolled students who pass this exam gain the right to be exempted from the preparatory program and start their freshman year. The students who fail take the Placement Exam and are divided into classes according to their level of English.

Proficiency Exam for Already Enrolled Students

The Proficiency Exam is held in January, June, and September within every academic year. 

The Proficiency Exam Format

As of 2016-2017 Academic Year, there will be no longer be a Writing Section in the Proficiency Exam and a multiple-choice test will replace this section. The Proficiency Exam will consist of 80 questions in total and be assessed by an optical reader. You can view the sample Proficiency Exam from the menu on the left.
