History

The School of Business Administration (BA) of Gebze Institute of Technology (GIT) combines the three existing departments, namely, Management, Science of Strategy and Economics.
The Department of Management includes four departments within 4 professors, 8 associate professors and 3 assistant professors as faculty members. Department has been offering post graduate education since 1996, Ph.D education since 1996 and also undergraduate education since 2008. In the meantime, the department has graduated more than 300 post graduate students and more than 80 Ph.D students.
Psycho-technical laboratory within the School of BA executes in a variety of measurements which are performed by computerized, instrumental, paper and pencil tests. The laboratory serves in both public and private sectors for the evaluation blue-collar and white-collar staff to gain.
The Department of Science of Strategy within the School of BA has 2 professors and 1 associate professor. The department has adopted the theory and application, branches of Science and Technology Management and Management Strategies, especially the social sciences as a whole within the framework of the universal mission of raising knowledge strategists reached till now has more than 100 post graduate students. Moreover, our faculty members have the international awards of the scientist in the top 50 of the field of Technology and Innovation Management, the best writer, the best paper and the most recommended article.
The Department of Economics has been offering post graduate programs of “Economics and International Trade and Finance” since the 2010 with 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 1 assistant professor. In this context of important developments in the economic field in our country and the world; it is aimed to provide essential knowledge and skills to students to analyze economic phenomena, inquiry, research, prediction, and rational decision-making processes.
In general; the School of BA, consists of 8 professors, 10 associate professors and 4 assistant professors as faculty members, is one of the most prestigious faculties of social sciences in our country with the most important criteria for the classification covered by the SSCI and SCI over 80 articles in international journals and international journals scanned indexes more than 300 publications.
The School of BA has faculty members ranked among the top 50 scientists in “Technology and Innovation Management” in the world, and received Successful Young Scientist Award and Academy of Sciences Award Outstanding Foreign Trade Under Secretariat. In addition, the faculty members have international awards like the best paper, the most recommended paper and the best writer. Our faculty members had received a substantial number of TUBITAK projects in the academic field of the social sciences and had completed them successfully. International publications had made by these projects and published in the best journals in their field.
