Cem ALBAYRAK - Plenary Speaker on the First International Congress on Biotech Solutions for Sustainability

Cem ALBAYRAK, CHIEF Technology Officer, Lıvzym BIOTECHNOLOGIES

After graduating from Robert College, Dr. Cem Albayrak obtained his dual B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University. He then conducted postdoctoral research at ETH Zürich on single-cell biology and returned to Turkey. Dr. Albayrak led a research group focused on protein engineering at Koç and Bezmialem Vakıf Universities for 7 years. Since 2020, he has been working as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Livzym Biotechnologies. At Livzym, he oversees R&D activities, regulatory affairs, and the product pipeline. He has published 10 peer-reviewed articles and 1 book chapter, and he holds 1 patent.

In his talk, he will summarize the role of precision fermentation in transforming industrial biotechnology and how this technology is deployed at Livzym to develop and manufacture enzymes.
