Speaking Exam

21 March 2024

Written exam;
The 80-question written exam, which will last 180 minutes, will consist of "listening, grammar, reading and vocabulary" questions. The exam will start with the "listening" part and candidates who arrive late will not be admitted to the "listening" part.

The entire written part consists of multiple choice questions. Only correct answers will be taken into account in the written exam, wrong answers will not take away your correct answers or affect the exam result.

During the exam, all students/staff must present their student/staff IDs or Turkish Republic ID cards. It is mandatory to have their ID with them. If there is no student/staff ID, official documents obtained from student affairs or through the e-government system are also accepted. Foreign national candidates must have their passports with them. Candidates who do not have any identification card with them will not be admitted to the exam.

Speaking Exam;

Candidates who get 50 points or more from the written exam will be able to take the oral exam. According to the written exam results, the list of candidates who will take the oral exam will be published on the GTÜ Department of Foreign Languages website on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. You need to check the website regularly during the day to find out whether you can take the oral exam.

There will be an appointment system for the oral exam and you must take the exam at the time specified for you in the list. According to the appointment list, you must be in front of the classroom in the building where the exam will be held at least 1 hour before your exam time. If there is a candidate who arrives late or does not take the exam, you may be called for the exam earlier than the specified time, as the exam will be passed on to the next candidate. Therefore, it is the candidate's responsibility to take the necessary precautions in this regard.

The candidate who is not at the exam site when the appointment time arrives can be taken to the exam after the exam of the last student on the class appointment list is completed. However, the exam ends as of the appointment time of the last student in the shared class list, and students arriving after this time will not be admitted to the exam. In other words, the candidate who arrives late from the appointed appointment time will be taken to the exam after the last candidate on the class list, and the exam will end as of the appointment time of the last candidate on the list.
