RESOURCES FOR OUR UNDERGRADUATE ENGLISH PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT STUDENTS
TO BE USED
Dear students,
Books we will use during the 2023-2024 academic year will be the books of Oxford University. We will use the textbooks in lessons and it will be difficult to follow the classes without the books. Therefore, we recommend you buy the books to avoid such problems, but purchasing the books is entirely students’ choice. Our university has absolutely no commercial expectations, profits, or responsibility from these book sales. However, since there is only one regional authority for the sale of the relevant books and there is a possibility that any purchases made except this may be pirated, the list of the books will not be offered. Purchasing and using illegally printed books is against the law and constitutes an element of crime.
The sale of books will be held online for seven days between 4-10 October 2023 . On October 11 , you will be able to physically get the books you have purchased online from the stand that Güler Bookstore will open in the GTÜ YDB main building. You can stop by this stand, which will be open between 08:30 - 16:30, and pick up your books in exchange for a signature.
Since all groups will have received their books at once at the beginning of the year, irrespective of their English level differences (A, B, C), there will be no further book sales. All levels will use the books they bought at the beginning of the year throughout the academic year (two academic semesters).
Your additional materials other than books will be shared with you by your advisors.
Steps to Follow for Book Purchasing:
- Between 04-10 October 2023 visit the following website: https://www.gulerkitabevi.com _
- On the home page with school logos, we click on the phrase "Click for school sales."
- On the page that opens, we select Gebze Technical University.
- Afterwards, we go down the page and select our class levels. (You will choose your English level according to the results of the school's placement test).
- A message will appear saying "Please enter the book code". At this point; The following codes must be entered as passwords;
Preparation A Dry: GTU2023HAZA
Preparation B Dry: GTU2023HAZB
Preparation C Dry: GTU2023HAZC
- We add it to the cart by pressing the "Buy Now" button that appears.
- We press the “Complete Shopping in Cart” button.
- We complete the shopping by filling in the requested information.
- On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, between 08.30 and 16.30 , we will come to the Foreign Languages Department Main Building and physically collect all the preparatory books you have already paid for from the officials at the Oxford stand, in exchange for signature.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Our department is not responsible for books that have been paid for but not taken from the stand. You should contact Güler Bookstore for your books that were not purchased on the stand day.
