-REVISED- 20 SEPTEMBER 2023 UNDERGRADUATE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY EXAM

Dear GTU Undergraduate Students,

The 2023-2024 Academic Year fall semester undergraduate English proficiency exam will be held face-to-face on Wednesday, 20 September 2023, between 10:00 and 13:00 . Exam duration is 180 minutes.

There are 80 questions in total in the exam. Exam consists of Listening ( note taking & while listening ), use of English, vocabulary , reading parts and is multiple choice. The exam will start with the " listening " section and candidates who arrive late for the exam will not take the " listening " section.

It is mandatory for all students to have their student ID and TR ID with them in the exam. In the absence of a student ID, a student certificate to be obtained from student affairs or via the e-government system is also accepted. Foreign students are required to have their passports with them. Students who do not have any ID with them will not be admitted to the exam. 

If you are a newly registered student, it is sufficient to complete your university registration to take the exam. Former entry students do not need to take any action.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• The proficiency exam will be held in 4 different buildings. The information in which building and classroom you will take the exam will be shared after the university registration is completed . Please check our website regularly to access this information and monitor possible changes.

• PLACEMENT EXAM for our students who are certain to study in the preparatory department will be held on Monday, 2 October 2023. Information about this exam will be shared after the proficiency exam is over.
