Dear GTU Undergraduate Preparatory Students,

On Monday, September 26, 2022, which is the start of the courses according to the academic calendar, there will be an English Placement Exam for students who are going to study at the Preparatory Department as a result of the English Proficiency Exam. The placement test, which will be held in two separate buildings belonging to the Department of Foreign Languages, will be held in two face-to-face sessions. The first session will take place between 10:00 – 11:00 and the second session will take place between 11:15 – 12:15.

There will be no classes on Tuesday, September 27. After the Placement Exam the level at which (A & B) you will start classes and the class lists will be announced on our website. After you learn your level, you can find out which books you should buy by checking our website.

A STUDENT ORIENTATION will be held at our school's congress center on Wednesday, September 28, between 11:00-13:00. General information about the Department of Foreign Languages, your course hours, exams, etc. will be given during the orientation. Classes will begin on Thursday, September 29.

It is very important to take the placement test to determine your English level. If you do not attend, you will have to start the classes directly from the " Elementary " level. Starting classes without determining your English level can be a disadvantage for you. Because the course period will cover one year and you will not have the opportunity to change classes.
