About Department

The Department of Civil Engineering, which started its activities in the 2017-2018 academic year under the roof of Gebze Technical University Faculty of Engineering, continues to offer international education opportunities to its students with its young and dynamic staff. Thanks to theoretical and practical vocational courses conducted by experienced faculty members, students gain the necessary knowledge and skills for civil engineering, and real application examples are presented through laboratory studies, field visits and professional internships.

Our department adopts an interdisciplinary approach to train the civil engineers of the future. Students are offered opportunities to deepen in different fields such as steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, masonry structures, water structures, construction management, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering and earthquake engineering. In this way, students gain the ability to work effectively at every stage of construction projects and have the potential to become leaders in the sector.

Gebze Technical University Civil Engineering Department makes special efforts to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. For this purpose, it offers students the opportunity to test building materials, analyze building design and work on real construction projects through laboratory and simulation studies.
