The negative effects of natural processes such as the needs of the increasing population and climate change on the resources of the earth are increasing. Gebze Technical University Earth and Marine Sciences Institute (GTU-YDBE) was established on October 21, 2014, with the law no. The Institute completed the necessary infrastructure and personnel studies and started active studies in August 2018. The research area of ​​the institute covers the whole world. However, water resources, including the seas, are the focal point of the studies carried out at the institute.
