General Information	Hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the most common causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide with a very poor therapeutic outcome. Recent research has indicated that cancer stemness parallels epithelial-to-mesenchymal (EMT) program and invasive/metastatic phenotypes of tumors thereof. Research in our laboratory focuses on the role of EMT-mediating transcription factors on these biological processes. Gene-regulatory regions bound by TFs will be identified by chromatin immunoprecipitation and the role of target molecules in hepatocarcinogenesis will be explored. Molecules validated by genomics and proteomics approaches will strengthen our knowledge about the biology of liver cancer and also will give insight into the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
