About the Functioning of the Evaluation Sub-Commission for Industrial Service Applications

10.04.2023

Dear Researchers,

The Industrial Service Applications Evaluation Sub-Commission (EHBDAK) was established under the Research and Development Commission of our university and started its duty. As shared with you in the e-mail of the Rectorate dated 7 February 2023, this sub-commission is tasked with evaluating the preliminary applications on which unit (Revolving Fund Management Directorate or TTO A.Ş.) the commercial and industrial activities such as testing, analysis, consultancy, etc. will be carried out in order to ensure that public resources are directed appropriately and correctly in accordance with the legal legislation.

Activities such as tests, analyses, technical reports, courses and trainings to be carried out within GTU will be carried out directly through the Directorate of Revolving Fund Management (DSIM) within the scope of the relevant legislation. Project consultancy services such as KOSGEB and TÜBİTAK TEYDEB will be carried out through TTO A.Ş.

The workflow on how the Commission will work can be seen at https://www.gtu.edu.tr/kategori/2997/0/display.aspx. R&D projects and consultancy activities within the scope of industrial cooperation can be carried out through DSIM or TTO A.Ş., and the relevant pre-application forms (FR-0686 and FR-0687) will be submitted to the Vice Rector's Office in two copies. The applications will be evaluated by EHBDAK every week and the decisions will be sent to the applicant and the relevant units through the R&D Commission (see https://www.gtu.edu.tr/icerik/2997/18490/display.aspx?languageId=1 for schematic workflows).

In order to ensure a healthy and fast evaluation of the applications, in the estimated project budget section of the forms, attention should be paid to write the TOTAL PROJECT BUDGET including institutional shares, consumables, etc. expenses and personnel (such as academicians, scholars, etc.) items, the infrastructure to be used within GTU, if any, should be written with the laboratory and device name appearing in LABSPORTAL, and the service purchases for the analyses to be performed on this device should also be budgeted. These explanations will also be valuable in terms of automation studies to facilitate the workflow.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation in this process and look forward to your feedback in order to ensure sustainable improvement of the process.

For your questions, comments and suggestions regarding the application process, please contact Seçil Begüm Atay (begumatay@gtu.edu.tr; rektoryrd@gtu.edu.tr) at the Vice Rector's Secretariat.

Sincerely.
