Support from General Directorate of Forestry to GTU Student

A project of GTU doctoral student Burcu Uzan Eken, for whom Prof. Yelda Özden Çiftçi (PhD) from GTU's Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG) is the advisor, has been entitled to receive fund from the General Directorate of Forestry (Orman Genel Müdürlüğü-OGM). The project by Burcu Uzan Eken, who works as a researcher with the Kavakçılık Araştırma Enstitüsü (Research Institute for Poplar Trees) at the same time, is titled "Detection of Genetic Diversity in Populus alba L. Populations Using Molecular Markers and the Determination of Protection Strategies" and was presented at the Research Specialization Groups (Araştırma İhtisas Grupları-AİG) meeting that was organized by the General Directorate of Forestry in Antalya between 28 January and 1 February 2019. The project will be conducted jointly with the General Directorate of Forestry. As GTU Family, we congratulate Burcu Uzan Eken, who will be the coordinating the project, and members of the project team, including Prof. Yelda Özden Çiftçi (PhD) and Emrah Kırdök (PhD) from the Department of MBG, and Kavakçılık Araştırma Enstitüsü Director Ercan Velioğlu, and wish them continued success.
