GTU Sports Tournament Comes To An End

The annual sports tournament where GTU's academic, administrative staff and students form teams and compete recently takes place 

The Awards Ceremony for GTU Sports Tournament 2018, organized by GTU's Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports, has recently been completed following the final competition at the campus. The ceremony was attended by Gebze Mayor Adnan Köşker, GTU Vice Rector Prof. A. Çağdaş Aydınoğlu (PhD), academics, institutional and organizational representatives, GTU administrative staff and students. In the tournament, which was organized in categories including volleyball, basketball, football, tennis and table tennis, the teams formed by GTU's academic, administrative staff and students went head-to-head in the games. A total of 465 competitors joined the tournament, which consisted of 120 games. The basketball and volleyball games within the tournament were played in Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayhan Sports Hall, and the tennis and football games were played in the open courts and pitches that belong to the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports. The final football game of the tournament was refereed by former Super League referee Mustafa Çulcu. Following the final, the teams that came in the  first, second and third place in all the branches were awarded by the officials with medals, trophies and various presents.
