GTU in the World University Rankings
One of Turkey’s most significant universities with its academic performance, GTU crosses the national borders and is ranked in the World University Rankings announced by Times Higher Education, which is an acclaimed authority for education in the world.
Listed in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018, GTU has been an honor to Turkey with its high performance. The outstanding efforts of Professor Haluk Görgün, GTU’s Rector, who has been conducting activities that aim to increase the effiency of the university from the first day he took office, and also the outstanding efforts of GTU faculty are crowned with success as newer national and international university ranking lists are announced every other day. GTU has recently been listed for the first time in Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. THE is considered an authority for education in the world. A total of 1102 universities around the world made it to the ranking list, which is prepared evaluating the universities worldwide. As a result of the evaluation based on education, research, number of cited publications, industrial income and overall international view of universities, GTU has been ranked in the 601-800 band for 2018 and is the 2nd highest-ranked university among all the Turkish state universities in the list. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Professor Görgün and the university staff, the fruits of success have been reaped once again and just another important success has been achieved in the name of our country.
