GTU’s International Students Become Honorary Ambassadors of Turkish Language

 

Students from 14 different countries studying at GTU exhibited their language skills with their fluent Turkish. The students, who will be returning their home countries by the end of the semester, have become honorary ambassadors of Turkish language.

International students studying at GTU under the Prime Minister’s Türkiye Scholarships Program this year took from GTU the Turkish language preparation courses they had been receiving from Kocaeli University until last year. Completing the Turkish language education provided to a total of 21 students from 14 different countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Colombia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gabon, Kenya, Mauritius, Palestine, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, and Syria, the students were awarded their certificates on June 22nd at the event organized in the Faculty of Business Administration’s Conference Hall.

“PRESERVE TURKISH LANGUAGE”

Speaking at the event also attended by Assoc. Prof. Bünyemin Coşut, Director of GTU Lifelong Education Center, and Abdurrahman Güngör (PhD), Director of Technology Transfer Center, Professor Hasan Aslan addressed the students, saying "Each one of you is an honorary ambassador of Turkish now. I hope you all preserve Turkish language as well as the scientific education you have received at GTU.” The event culminated with the students reading poems, singing songs, performing short plays, and receiving their certificates afterwards.
