A Talk on Design in Architecture

Lisbon University Faculty of Architecture Research Assistant Funda Tan Yılmaz attended at Gebze Technical University (GTU) Faculty of Architecture N Block Conference Hall to 'Talks' Event. Organized with GTU Architectural Design Club(MITA), "Talks" Events continue to bring together in university and university students with people who are famous in their field. In this context, Funda Tan Yılmaz, Research Assistant of Faculty of Architecture of University of Lisbon, was a guest speaker. Prof. Nilay Coşgun, Faculty of Architecture, Academic Staff and students participated to this event.

‘TWO-DIMENSIONAL DRAWING TECHNIQUE ISN’T USED’

Yılmaz determined that simulations in architecture now provide an opportunity to understand the environment and therefore the nature, and expressed that he replaced the simulation with a representation. In that architecture he gave examples of building construction processes by supporting the concept production in design and building information modeling programs and he stated that with AutoCAD two dimensional drawing technique has been left in the world. Yılmaz stated that three-dimensional building models are more productive and time lost least. Thus, he said that interdisciplinary studies can be done.
