Student-Sector Get-Together through Digital Transformation Office

GTU Cyber Security Vocational School connects its students with the ecosystem of the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.

GTU, which has one of Türkiye's four Cyber Security Vocational High Schools, informed students about the cyber security ecosystem in a program organized by the Presidential Digital Transformation Office (CBDDO). The sector-student meeting held at Gebze Technical University (GTU) Cyber Security Vocational School's (SG MYO) Aselsan Computer Laboratory was attended by GTU Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Durmuş; GTU SG MYO Director Prof. Dr. Oğul Esen; representatives from the Presidential Digital Transformation Office, Duygu Fidancıoğlu and Didem Gülsever; Kerem Kılıç and Mehmet Ali Ağrab from Turkcell; Eren Hasipek from Türkiye Cyber Security Cluster (TSGK); Arif Gürdenli from Bugbounter; and İlker Avcı from Peyk Cyber Security, along with the administrative and academic staff and students of GTU SG MYO.

The event aimed to increase interaction and maintain warm communication between the academic, administrative, and student societies of cyber security vocational schools, which were pioneered by the CBDDO. Information was provided about the roles of Cyber Security Analytics and Operatorship in public institutions under the DDO, with participation from sector representatives.

In the program, GTU Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Durmuş made the opening speech, stating that the university would do its best to produce qualified professionals in this needed field according to the country's requirements. GTU SG MYO Director Prof. Dr. Oğul Esen expressed their satisfaction in his speech about contributing to educating a workforce capable of meeting the country's needs in this area and emphasized the importance of adding value to the students. During the event, Duygu Fidancıoğlu made a general presentation about the CBDDO, Kerem Kılıç from Turkcell presented on Penetration Testing, Mehmet Ali Ağrab on SOC Center, Eren Hasipek on TSGK, Arif Gürdenli from Bugbounter presented "What is Bounty Hunting?", and İlker Avcı from Peyk Cyber Security presented "What is Cyber Threat Intelligence?". The speakers answered questions about their presentations during the Q&A session.

The first part of the program at the Aselsan Computer Laboratory concluded with a survey directed at students, a group photo, and gifts for the students. In the second part of the program, GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar hosted the participants in his office for a meeting about GTU SG MYO, and then plaques were presented.
