"Bridge of Hearts" from GTU to Hakkâri

As part of the program organized by Hakkâri and Istanbul Governorates, high school students from Hakkâri visit Gebze Technical University (GTU) campus.

Coordinated by the Governorate of Hakkâri within the scope of the "Bridge of Hearts" (Gönül Köprüsü) project between the Hakkâri and Istanbul Governorates, 75 students from the Science and Anatolian High Schools in Hakkâri, along with 8 teachers from the same schools, visited the Gebze Technical University (GTU) campus. The students had the opportunity to get to know the university up close in its teaching spaces and magnificent natural surroundings, and they were welcomed by the Rector of GTU, Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, in his office. The Rector spoke to the students about the facilities and opportunities offered by GTU, its education and research infrastructure, as well as its national and international achievements. He also provided the students with information about the matters they should pay attention to during their career journeys. Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar emphasized to the students that the educational opportunities at all levels in our country are competitive with those of other countries and that the university education they receive here is no different than that of universities abroad. Encouraging the high school students to choose GTU, which is among the best universities in Türkiye, the Rector expressed his satisfaction with the visit and thanked the Hakkâri and Istanbul Governorates.

At GTU Congress and Cultural Center, a presentation titled "The Importance of a Research University in Career Steps" was delivered by the GTU Press and Public Relations Manager Çağatay Aktürk, and the students' questions about the faculties and departments of the university were answered. The students also toured the laboratories of GTU's Institute of Nanotechnology and received information from the academics there.
