GTU Eternal To Compete in IREC!

GTU students will showcase their talents and potential in the field of space sciences in the United States.

The National Technology Team "Eternal," formed by Gebze Technical University (GTU) students, has earned the right to compete in the prestigious IREC (Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition), which will be held in the state of New Mexico, USA. The GTU team will launch their self-designed and manufactured rockets to the sky at the competition, which will take place at the Spaceport America near El Paso between June 17 and 22, 2024. Representing GTU and our country, the team includes Oğuz Özkan from the Faculty of Science, Şengül Sude Şeker from the Faculty of Architecture, Cemal Gümüş, Hüseyin Kaan Öner, Emre Koyakbaşı, and Recep Takak from the Faculty of Engineering. With 154 teams from 16 different countries participating worldwide, the competition stands out as one of the most important events in space technologies.
