Project Visit to GTU from TAGEM

TAGEM Director General Dr. Metin Türker visited GTU within the scope of the project "Mapping of National Agricultural Drought Risk and Web-Based Monitoring of Agricultural Drought".

The interim review meeting of the project, "Mapping of National Agricultural Drought Risk and Web-Based Monitoring of Agricultural Drought", supported by the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) and led by Dr. Ali Levent Yağcı, Associate Professor at the Department of Geomatics Engineering at Gebze Technical University (GTU), was held in the meeting room of the Department of Geomatics Engineering at GTU.

TAGEM Director General Dr. Metin Türker, TAGEM Soil and Water Resources Research Department Head Engineer Mehmet Mustafa Yeşil, TAGEM Soil and Water Resources Research Department Coordinator Dr. İnci Tekeli, and Dr. Gürkan Güvenç Avcı, Director of the Kırklareli Atatürk Soil, Water, and Agricultural Meteorology Research Institute, along with Engineer Cantekin Kıvrak (MSc) participated in the meeting. During the meeting, the drought portal developed within the scope of the project was introduced, and national agricultural drought maps produced from satellite images between 2003-2023 were examined. Following the meeting, the TAGEM delegation visited GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar to exchange views on the project.
