EU-Supported ERASMUS PLUS Project in Construction Sector Introduced

Gebze Technical University (GTU) hosted the introduction meeting of the ERASMUS PLUS project titled "Common Learning Outcomes for European Managers in Construction V (CLOEMCVI)," led by faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering.

EU-supported project meets with industry representatives and students

The meeting was organized to present the detailed objectives of the project and discuss guidelines with industry representatives. The significance of the project was emphasized through interactive sessions offering students opportunities for careers in the construction sector.

Guidelines created within the project were thoroughly discussed with industry representatives. The guidelines, covering essential topics in the construction sector, were tailored to meet the needs of the industry.

ERASMUS PLUS Project introduced at GTU

Prof. Dr. Selçuk Toprak, a faculty member from the Department of Civil Engineering at Gebze Technical University, presented the ERASMUS PLUS project titled "Common Learning Outcomes for European Managers in Construction V (CLOEMCVI)" at the Congress and Cultural Center. The project is carried out in partnership with seven institutions from Poland, Germany, Italy, Türkiye, and Iceland. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onur Şeker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevilay Demirkesen Çakır, Research Assistant Emel Sadıkoğlu, and Oğuz Dal are involved in the project as researchers.

Details of the introduction meeting and project objectives:

The meeting was organized to provide a detailed introduction to the project and to bring together the guidelines that will be part of the project with industry representatives. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Toprak and his team shared the objectives, scope, and expected outcomes of the project with the participants. The guidelines created within the project were discussed in detail with industry representatives, exchanging views on the specific content to be determined for each guide.

Interaction between industry representatives and students in the second part

In the second part of the meeting, industry representatives introduced their companies and engaged in a question-and-answer session with students. This allowed students to benefit from the experiences shared by industry representatives and plan their careers accordingly.

Future of the project and closing conference

The project, spanning approximately 2.5 years, will conclude with a closing conference and sharing sessions in April 2025. Throughout this period, regular meetings with industry representatives will be held within the scope of the project.
