GTU Commemorates Atatürk with Respect and Gratitude

At Gebze Technical University (GTU), the 85th anniversary of the passing of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated through a poignant ceremony on November 10th, known as Atatürk Memorial Day. The event was attended by academics, students, and administrative staff.

The commemoration began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the statue of Atatürk by GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar. Attendees included the GTU administration, faculty members, students, administrative staff, and teachers and students from the Minik Çınar Kindergarten located on  GTU campus. At 09:05, the time of Atatürk's passing, a moment of silence was observed following the sounding of a siren, followed by the National Anthem.

Associate Professor Dr. Kurtuluş Demirkol from the Department of the Science of Strategy under GTU's Faculty of Business Administration delivered a commemorative speech on "Democracy and Atatürk." The ceremony came to an end with a choreographed performance prepared by the students, in which all participants took part.
