GTU Library Awarded Orange Flag by YÖK

The winners of the "Accessible Universities Awards" for the year 2023, held to encourage the creation of an inclusive ecosystem at universities, are announced at a ceremony organized by the Council of Higher Education-CoHE (YÖK). The GTU Library Building is awarded with an "Orange Flag" at the ceremony.

The GTU Library Building earned the Orange Flag Award as part of the "Accessible University Awards 2023" program organized by YÖK. The efforts of GTU in becoming an inclusive university were crowned with this significant award.

The receiving of the award, which is a result of the successful arrangements made for accessible access within the library building was met with great joy.  Salim Yıldız, Acting Director of Library and Documentation, expressed his gratitude to the entire administration, including Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, Vice Rector for Research and Development Prof. Dr. Işıl Kurnaz, Secretary-General Nadir Yıldırım, and Director of Construction and Technical Works, Alparslan Durukan, for their positive and solution-oriented approach to accessible access.

The accessible access arrangements in the library building aim to provide a better learning and research environment for all users with disabilities.
