GTU Contributes to Türkiye's First Tsunami Drill

A "Tsunami Awareness Drill" has taken place in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul, with the participation of many institutions to create awareness towards disasters. Under the coordination of Boğaziçi University's Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute, the drill, which is the first tsunami drill in Türkiye and has been prepared by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, GTU and METU, was held. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ceren Özer Sözdinler from the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at GTU, also took charge in the drill.
