GTU Delegation Visits MATIL Co.

A delegation from GTU has recently visited MATIL, Materials Testing and Innovation Laboratories Co., and exchanged ideas on projects that might be carried out under university-industry collaboration.

The delegation, which consists of Prof. Dr. Işıl Kurnaz, Vice Rector, GTU; Prof. Dr. Ebru Menşur Alkoy, Head of Department, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, GTU; Asst. Prof. Dr. Ümit Barış Kutman, Assistant Director, Institute of Biotechnology, GTU; Asst. Prof. Dr. Bahar Yıldız-Kutman, Institute of Biotechnology, GTU; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nurgül Kıtır-Şen, Institute of Earth and Marine Sciences, GTU, received information from İbrahim Tozlu, General Manager, MATIL, regarding the R&D and P&D activities in various sectors and visited the testing and analysis laboratories.

Possible joint projects aimed at meeting the needs of the industry in a sustainable manner and increasing international competitiveness by developing innovative materials and transforming waste into value-added products within the scope of green transformation, and the contributions that GTU can provide for these projects with its capabilities and infrastructure in different disciplines were evaluated.

The visit ended with the decision to hold the next meeting at GTU campus, where concrete project ideas will be prioritized and matured.
