Presidency Digital Transformation Office Through Student-Industry Meeting

Gebze Technical University Cyber Security Vocational School connects its students with the Presidency Digital Transformation Office Ecosystem

At GTU, one of Turkey's 4 Cyber Security Vocational Schools, students were informed about the cyber security ecosystem at a program organized by the Presidency Digital Transformation Office.

The student-industry meeting, held at the Aselsan Computer Laboratory of Gebze Technical University (GTU) Cyber Security Vocational School (CSVS), was attended by GTU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmur Durmuş, GTU CSVS Director Prof. Dr. Oğul Esen, Duygu Fidancıoğlu and Didem Gülsever from the PDTO, Kerem Kılıç and Mehmet Ali Ağrab from Turkcell, Eren Hasipek from Turkey Cyber Security Cluster (TSGK), Arif Gürdenli from Bugbounter, İlker Avcı from Peyk Cyber Security, administrative and academic staff of GTU CSVS, and students.

The event aimed to increase the interaction between the Presidency Digital Transformation Office (PDTO) and Cyber Security Vocational Schools in terms of academic, administrative, and student interaction, while keeping communication warm. Additionally, information was provided about Cyber Security Analysis and Operation in public institutions under the auspices of the PDTO, with the participation of industry representatives.

The opening speech of the program was delivered by GTU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Durmuş, who stated that the university would do its best to train qualified individuals in line with the country's needs in this field. Prof. Dr. Oğul Esen, Director of GTU CSVS, emphasized the importance of adding value to students, expressing their satisfaction with contributing to the training of qualified manpower that will meet the country's needs in this regard.

During the event, Duygu Fidancıoğlu presented a General Presentation about PDTO, Kerem Kılıç presented a Penetration Testing Session, Mehmet Ali Ağrab presented a SOC Center Session, Eren Hasipek presented a TSGK Session, Arif Gürdenli presented a Bug Bounty Session, and İlker Avcı presented a Cyber Threat Intelligence Session to provide information to the students. Participants answered questions about their presentations during the Q&A session. The first part of the program at the Aselsan Computer Laboratory ended with a student survey, a group photo, and the distribution of gifts to the students.

In the second part of the program, GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar hosted the participants in his office and held a meeting about GTU CSVS. Afterwards, plaques were presented.
