Different cultures met at GTU

Foreign students studying at GTU introduced traditional costumes, country music and dances to Turkish students at the cultural festival.                                                        

"Global Village" culture festival event at Gebze Technical University (GTU) campus created colorful images. Foreign students who participated from 15 different countries opened stands and introduced their own countries to Turkish students. Turkish students who showed great interest in dances and music had the opportunity to familiarize the foreign students' local foods, traditional costumes, country music and dances. Rector of GTU Prof. Haluk Görgün was participated and interested in closely with the students in the festival. It organized by GTU Social Life and Media Group which is a partnership of the "Lift Up Your Future" project conducted by AIESEC which the biggest youth organization in the world. Görgün, a long-time chatting with foreign students who introduced their cultures with special shows, expressed satisfaction with the together of the students who have different cultures at GTU at the opening of the festival.

THEY LOVE TURKISH PEOPLE VERY

GTU Social Life and Media Group President Altan Behiç Temiz said that foreign students love the Turkish People very and especially admire the helpful and hospitable aspects of the Turkish people. He said, "As GTU youths, we have tried to support this event with as much support as possible from world peace. I am grateful to the management and the staff of the Gebze Technical University for their efforts in organizing this event." Foreign students from countries such as India, Pakistan, Tunisia, Algeria, Brazil, China, Bahrain, Egypt and Uganda are presenting English language presentations and workshops every week on Monday and Friday at the university campus. The project also aims to develop English students of GTU students in one-to-one conversations during presentations addressing the students of preparing of GTU.
