What is the difference between Office and Office 365?

Office is a productivity software installed on your desktop or laptop computer (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and OneNote). Office 365 is an online service that can be accessed from virtually any device and anywhere, including e-mail, shared calendar, online document exchange and creation, instant messaging, web conferencing, public open websites for business and internal team sites.

What is Cloud?

Cloud is an easy way to describe web based computer services. Information storage, calculation, and software are maintained and managed remotely on Microsoft-owned servers. Since this infrastructure is online, you can get it from any desktop computer, laptop computer or mobile phone anywhere.

Where can I access the new E-Mail and Office 365 services?

You can access the new E-Mail and Office365 services at portal.gtu.edu.tr.

What account can I use with the new E-Mail and Office 365 services?

You can benefit from the new E-Mail and Office365 services by using your existing e-mail address and extension with gtu.edu.tr extension.

I can’t log in to the new E-mail and Office 365 portal. What should I do?

You can get support by mailing to 365@gtu.edu.tr about the problem you are experiencing.

How do I get to my old mails?

You can reach your old mails by following the web mail field on the GTU website.

I forgot my e-mail password, what do I have to do?

If you are an academic or administrative staff, you must apply to the Information Technology Department with your corporate identity. If you are a student, you must apply to the Information Technology Department with your student ID or student certificate.

What do I need to do to change my current e-mail password?

If you know your current password and want to change it, you can change it at passchange.gtu.edu.tr.
