Gebze Technical University, opened its doors in July in 1992, have two campuses in Kocaeli. The Department of Mathematics is located in the buildings H and I on the Çayırova Campus.

Today, through combining insights from mathematical theory with modeling and computer technology, mathematics is used as the essential tool to solve problems in physical and biological sciences, engineering, information technology, economics and finance.

The Department of Mathematics combines leading mathematical and interdisciplinary resarch with high quality B.Sc, M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs. Department of Mathematics is one of the largest integrated departments of Gebze Institute of Technology and covers the entire breadth of the subject, including algebra, combinatorics, applied mathematics, complex analysis, topology and, probability and statistics. The Department's staff are increasingly involved in interdisciplinary research and in collaboration with partners, such as ERASMUS.
