| General Information | It is estimated that over 9000 plant species are endangered in the world. Among them, preservation of especially woody plants is important as those species are not easy to propagate and face genetic erosion. Thus, medium (plant tissue culture, slow growth storage, synthetic seed) and long-term (cryopreservation) conservation is carried out in Plant Biotechnology Laboratory to preserve woody plants. Moreover, identification of genetic polymorphisms and determination of genetic fidelity of in vitro-propagated or conserved plant germplasm are also investigated. |
