Rector Aslan Speaks at UK-Turkey Higher Education Strategic Partnerships Forum

GTU Rector Prof. Muhammed Hasan Aslan (PhD) visits UK on "New Perspectives: UK-Turkey Higher Education Strategic Partnerships Forum", and signals on his return that GTU is ready for new collaborations

The "New Perspectives: UK-Turkey Higher Education Strategic Partnerships Forum", organized by the British Council and Turkey's Council of Higher Education (YÖK), took place in London, UK, on February 26, 2019. Bringing together university administrators and policy makers from the UK and Turkey, the forum covered the sharing of information regarding new developments in the field of higher education in both countries and the topics such as strategic priorities and establishment of new connections to increase collaboration between the two countries.

Speaking at the panel session titled "University-Industry Partnerships: Exploring Good Practice Models", GTU Rector Professor Muhammed Hasan Aslan (PhD) provided examples of good practice based on GTU's experience in university-industry collaboration, mentioned Turkey's and GTU's vision for the future, and proposed suggestions on how the collaboration betwen the two countries could support university-industry partnerships. Commenting on the Forum following his return, Professor Aslan said he believed the Forum would pave the way for many fruitful activities. 

The Forum participants from Turkey were YÖK Acting Director Prof. Rahmi Er (PhD), Rectors and senior administrators of universities including GTU, Ankara University, Bilkent University, Boğaziçi University, Erciyes University, Hacettepe University, Istanbul University , Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa, Istanbul Technical University, İzmir Institute of Technology, Koç University, Middle East Technical University, and Sabancı University.
