Doctoral Students From GTU To Be Supported By TÜBİTAK

The results of the "Industrial PhD Program" started by TÜBİTAK to produce under university-industry collaboration the qualified human resource with doctoral degrees needed in the key industrial areas of the country have recently been announced

Within the scope of the 2244-Industrial PhD Program launched by TÜBİTAK for the first time, 6 doctoral students from GTU have become entitled to complete a certain part of their education in the industry with industrial funds.

As part of the application made to TÜBİTAK by GTU Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Osman Öztürk in collaboration with Şişecam Inc. and by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Soydan in collaboration with Hayat Kimya Inc., a total of 6 PhD students from GTU have gained the right to receive financial aid.

Doctoral students are monthly awarded 4,500 TRY each (75% as reimbursed by TÜBİTAK, 25% as reimbursed by the Industry)  during their doctoral education.

Commenting on the program, GTU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) General Manager Vedat Güçler remarked: "Thanks to our students who will be receiving part of their doctoral education in the industry, we aim to establish stronger bonds with the industry in terms of university-industry collaboration. The industrial experience our students will gain will surely contribute to our R&D activities. We also believe that this collaboration will also add to the development of advanced technology."

In the announcement made by GTU TTO, it was reported that a collaboration protocol would be signed in the following days for the students to be supported under the program.
