GTU and Bingöl University Expand Collaboration

Under the "Mission Differentiation and Specialization Aimed at Regional Development for Turkish Universities" program, which is jointly coordinated by  the Presidency of Strategy and Budget under the Presidency of Turkey and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), senior officials from GTU and Bingöl University, which are already in collaboration within the program, came together and conducted preparatory work on new projects to come. 

GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammed Hasan Aslan hosted the delegation coming from Bingöl University in his office. Bingöl University delegation included Prof. Dr. İbrahim Çapak, the Rector; Prof. Dr. Ramazan Solmaz, Vice Rector for Projects; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevzat Esim and Lecturer Veysel Süzerer, PİKOM (Pilot University Coordination Center) Assistant Coordinators. Following the office visit, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Yelda Özden Çiftçi, Deputy Head of Department, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, GTU, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ercan Abdullah, Institute Faculty, Institute of Information Technologies, GTU, meetings that lasted all day and covered the details of the projects to come in the field of specialization and development were carried out. As a result of the meetings, the projects and fields of study that will be conducted jointly by the two universities were determined, and result-oriented useful projects were prepared on beekeeping and the commercialization of plants of high economic value. Following the meetings, the delegation visited GTU laboratories in company with GTU faculty and received more detailed information about the university’s areas of study.
