GTU and PÜRPLAST sign protocol for R&D collaboration

GTU and PÜRPLAST, a plastics company operating in Gebze region, have recently signed an R&D collaboration protocol. GTU Rector Prof. Muhammed Hasan Aslan (PhD), GTU Department of Chemistry Faculty Member Prof. Fatma Yüksel (PhD), GTU Technopark General Manager Mustafa Güray Değerli, GTU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) Manager Vedat Güçler, PÜRPLAST General Manager Ümit Şişmanoğlu and Assistant General Manager Volkan Öztunç, GTU TTO Specialists Aykut Ulgar and Hasan Türkan, and GTU Chemistry Master's Student Semih Akbay were all present at the signing ceremony. 

Within the scope of the R&D collaboration, firstly, a project application under "TÜBİTAK-2210-D Master's Scholarship Programme for National Industry" has been made together with PÜRPLAST, and as a result, the Master's Student Semih Akbay from GTU's Department of Chemistry has gained the right to receive support from TÜBİTAK. Semih Akbay is periodically conducting project studies at PÜRPLAST's R&D Center. In addition, Prof. Fatma Yüksel (PhD) from the Department of Chemistry at GTU is providing academic consultancy for the projects PÜRPLAST has been developing in the field of advanced technology.
