Civil Aviation Day at GTU

Civil Aviation Day at GTU this year is dedicated to Nuri Demirağ, one of the most important people in Turkish aviation history 

Within the scope of the International Civil Aviation Day (7 December), GTU's Aviation and Space Club organized the Civil Aviation Day Event, the first of which was held last year, at Molecular Biology and Genetics Lecture Hall, GTU, on December 5, 2018. The event, which was held in commemoration of İsmail Cevheri last year, was dedicated this year to Nuri Demirağ, who holds a very special place in Turkish aviation history. GTU students, students coming from various cities and aviation enthusiasts were present at the event. The event started with a presentation by Erdoğan Menekşe, an eminent Turkish general aviation pilot. In his presentation, Menekşe talked about his aviation career and shared information about the records he broke during his career. The second guest speaker of the event was Attorney Bahadır Gürer, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Aviator Vecihi Hürkuş Museum Association. And the third speaker was Tolga Özbek, representing the website kokpit.aero.  At the end of the event, the participants were presented with special gifts selected around aviation concept.
