Sustainable Facade Project Completed
A new sustainable facade system project that prevents industrial buildings from looking like a concrete and iron jungle has recently been completed by Asst. Prof. İbrahim Türkeri (PhD), GTU Architecture Faculty Member, and Master Architect Gönül Karademir. In the newly developed facade system, well-used pallets are taken under preservation with a protective layer and mounted on steel construction, and thanks to the pots placed inside inner surfaces of the pallets, the building facade becomes a bio-wall at the same time. This system, which aims for an economical and environment-friendly facade, has mainly been designed for industrial facilities.
