Under the chief editorship of Asst. Prof. Hüseyin Biçeroğlu (PhD) from the Department of Brain and Nerve Surgery at Ege University, with 5 editor assistants and 250 chapter authors, the 4-volume book titled "Fonksiyonun Cerrahi Anatomisi" (Surgical Anatomy of Function) and published by Intertip Publishing House hits the stores as a result of continuous efforts of 2 years. 1 chapter of the 196-chapter book, which has been contributed to by scholars from many different disciplines including brain and nerve surgery, psychiatry, psychology, molecular biology, genetics and interdisciplinary neurology, has been written by GTU Biotechnology Institute's Director and MBG Department Faculty Member Prof. Işıl Kurnaz (PhD). The chapter by Prof. Işıl Kurnaz (PhD) is titled "Beyin enerji metabolizmasının özellikleri ve fonksiyonel önemi" (Properties of Brain's Energy Metabolism and Its Functional Importance).
