2018-2019 Academic Year Opening Ceremony Held in Ankara

The opening ceremony for 2018-2019 Academic Year took place at Beştepe National Congress and Cultural Center in Ankara, with Dear President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan honoring the event. The ceremony was attended by nearly a total of 2000 guests,  from all the university rectors in the country to the relevant ministers, presidents of institutions, ambassadors, government officials, and a certain number of academics and students representing universities. The GTU members who were present at the ceremony were the Rector Prof. Muhammed Hasan Aslan (PhD); Vice Rector and Dean of Faculty of Architecture Prof. Nilay Coşgun (PhD); Dean of Faculty of Business Administration Prof. Ebru Tümer Kabadayı (PhD); Acting Dean of Faculty of Science Prof. Erhan Demirbaş (PhD); Acting Dean of Faculty of Engineering Prof. Bülent Akbaş (PhD); and GTU faculty members.  CoHE President Prof. Yekta Saraç (PhD) and Dear President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered speeches at the ceremony. Also, The "CoHE Excellence Awards", the first academic awards in the history of Turkish higher education, were awarded for the second time at the ceremony.
