GTU Faculty Listed Among World's Top Scholars
Webometrics, the Ranking Web of Universities, has recently announced the top 1808 nanotechnology and nanoscience experts, ranked according to their Google Scholar public profiles. 15 scholars from Turkey enter the list, which includes GTU Physics Faculty Prof. Zafer Ziya Öztürk, PhD.
GTU Physics Faculty Prof. Zafer Ziya Öztürk, PhD, has recently been listed among the top nanotechnology and nanoscience experts in the world according to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, which is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group that belongs to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The ranking uses scientific criteria such as h-index, number of citations, number of documents, which proves its validity and reliability, and the latest ranking has excluded the scholars whose h-index is lower than 20. Only 15 scholars from Turkey could make it to the ranking, which is the most comprehensive academic performance ranking in the world.
Prof. Zafer Ziya Öztürk has up to now conducted studies on solid state devices and sensors, synthesis of metal-oxide semi-conductor sensors and chemical sensors, and he still continues his research on the development of nanostructured biochemical sensors for various applications.
