Architecture Students Get a Taste of Transformation with PUPA 2.0

Pupa 2.0, the Pupa event the first of which was held last year, was organized by GTU's Architectural Design Club "MİTA" and took place between June 20-22, 2018 at GTU campus. At the event, all waste workshop materials collected in GTU's Faculty of Architecture and from the companies in the region were transformed into on-site re-productions on campus. A total of 65 architecture students and alumni from 25 different universities in Turkey participated in the event.

The theme of the Pupa event this year was TRANSFORMATION. At the workshops during the event, the production potential of all the waste materials was reviewed, and all the participants found the chance for collaborative practice in transforming the materials with on-site and re-productive scenarios. The MİTA team said they hope to make the event a tradition where architecture and design students from different universities come together at the end of every academic year and they work hard to achieve the best out if, and they have already started to work on the 3rd Pupa event, Pupa 3.0, hoping to reach many more people.
