GTU Satellite Goes Up In The Sky

GTU students successfully represent GTU and Turkey in the "CanSat" Model Satellite Competition held in the US 

The CanSat Competition, organized by the American Astronautical Society (AAS) and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) as an annual student design-build-launch competition for space-related topics and supported by NASA, has recently been held in the US. The GTU-SAT team, which consists of GTU students from the Robotics and Automation Club, successfully represented the University and the country in the finals of the competition, which they joined for the first time. The CanSat Competition is a space-related event participated by the most prestigious universities in the world and the GTU-SAT team successfully made it to and completed the competition in Stephenville, Texas, the US, by going through many phases. Commenting on the competition, GTU-SAT team leader and GTU student Muhammet İkbal Elek said: We feel truly proud because our satellite went up in the sky. We have been through a very challenging and dynamic process. We thank everyone who has been supporting us."
