Information Technology Under Close Examination

At the COMDAY 4 event organized traditionally by GTU's IEEE Student Society, IT experts come together with the students and reflect on the IT agenda of our time and the future

The COMDAY 4 event organized by GTU's IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Student Society took place at the Lecture Hall of the Department of Electronics Engineering.

At the event, Dr. Yunus Sönmez from Netaş, a key company in the IT sector; Gökhan Karakuş from Argela, a company that focuses on research, development and innovation activities for next generation telecommunications technologies; and Nihat Burak Aksar from the leading Turkish GSM operator Turkcell were present as speakers.

The speakers first introduced the companies they work with and talked about their position in the world of IT. Providing information about the past and the present situation of the 1G technology, the speakers then made important evaluations regarding important topics such as cellular network technologies, the future of mobile technologies, and the emerging network technologies and 5G technology.

All sessions at the event were followed by a Q&A session, and at the end of the knowledge contest sponsored by Argela, the winning student won a tablet computer.
