TUBITAK Supports GTU's Senior Students

GTU's senior undergraduate Molecular Biology and Genetics students recently received project support from TUBITAK. Applying for TUBITAK's 2209/A National Research Project Support Programme for University Students for the year 2017, Kübra Yurduseven, Seyhan Ünsal and Esra Özaltın's projects were found worthy of receiving support. Kübra Yurduseven, who will be conducting studies for her MBG 495/MBG 496 Graduation Project in the laboratory of Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Faculty Member and Biotechnology Institute Director Işıl Kurnaz, will study the effect of Elk-1 protein on neuroprotection in Parkinson's Disease while Esra Özaltın will continue her studies on producing some growth factors in mammalian cells. Seyhan Ünsal, who will be conducting studies for her MBG 495 Graduation Project in the laboratory of Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Asuman Demiroğlu Zergeroğlu, will study the Examination of Halofuginon's Effect on Cell Cycle in Mesothelioma Cells.  We congratulate our students and wish them continued success in their studies.
