GTU Gathers Around Campfire

GTU Rector Prof. Haluk Görgün and GTU students recently came together in a motivation camp. The group gathered and chatted around the campfire, and welcomed the new academic year with various sportive and cultural activities.

The camp was organized by GTU in order to boost the morale and motivation of the students for the 2017-2018 Academic Year and took place between September 22-24 2017 at Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's "Diriliş" Camp on Kocaeli-Aytepe Camping Ground with the personal participation of Prof. Haluk Görgün. Besides Görgün and the students, Vice Rectors Prof. Babür Özçelik and Prof. Hasan Aslan; Prof. Nilay Coşgun, Dean of Faculty of Architecture; Prof. Ebru Tümer Kabadayı, Dean of Faculty of Business Administration; Assoc. Prof. Abdurrahman Akyol, Secretary General; and various other members of the administrative staff from GTU were also present at the camp. Within the scope of the camp program, sportive activities such as paintball, hiking, and archery were carried out as well as talks where the students and administrators exchanged opinions with one another. In addition, a presentation titled "Getting to Know and Improving Oneself" was made by Prof. Murat Günaydın. Commenting on the camp program, GTU Rector Prof. Görgün said he had great fun spending time with the students. Görgün later remarked: “We were at the Kocaeli Diriliş Camp with our students. We thank the Kocaeli Mayor in the first place and also his team. This place is a great facility. We had great fun with our students. The camp fire and chatting around it were also delighting. We completed all the activities within the program with our students and seeing that they were pleased with the camp made us so happy. We do not want to miss a single opportunity to come together with our students, who we consider as stakeholders within GTU's administration, and these camps are an opportunity for us to have fun together and exchange opinions with them."
